Writing

While photography is largely my primary creative focus, I have always enjoyed writing. As a kid, like many others, I tried creating my own fantasy book series, and throughout high school I continued writing prose and stepped into poetry as well.
While attending Capilano University's creative writing program, I further developed my writing skills, and joined the university's writing and arts publication,The Liar, as both an editor and contributor for Volume 19 of the publication in the Spring of 2018. The poem of mine that was published in that volume, Scarlet Wings, is a piece I am currently working on rewriting along side several other poetry and short story projects.
After starting my Bachelor's of Fine Arts program at The University of the Fraser Valley in 2019, writing work took a back seat as I dug deeper into my photography studies, until returning to it in the Spring of 2026, starting work on a fantasy novel that seeks to tackle the subjects of panopticism and the breaking down of social binaries.
